The Great Chowder Cook-Off has long been considered the traditional start to the summer season in Newport. For the last couple of decades we have employed public-media relations tactics to help build the event’s brand and stir up local and regional coverage, as well as national visibility with the CBS Early Show, The Food Network, Parade magazine and Better Homes & Gardens. Our secret ingredient is our many close contacts in the media with the result being an event with a national profile and annual attendance figures that consistently exceeded expectations.
